Rainbow Education & Counselling centre Our Mission
If someone asks me why I have set up the Rainbow Education & Counseling Centre, I will use five “L”s to express my thoughts.
The first “L” stands for “Learning”. Learning is one of the most important endeavors in life, especially for young people. When a newborn first opens his eyes, he or she feels curious as to the outside world, and begins to explore, analyze and learn continuously. But what should one learn? How does one learn to achieve the most favorable result? And to be able to apply one’s knowledge to everyday life? Should parents, teachers and others alike adopt an encouraging attitude to nurture young people in their growth, and to provide them with all the resources they may need, together with the best quality education to be had? These are questions which we all need to consider when it comes to the path of learning.
The second “L” stands for “Leading”. Young people, through the baptism of age, continuously absorb experiences throughout their lifetime. They may face an array of difficulties within their family, throughout learning, in their friendship with others or in their personal development, and may need others for guidance, or a helping hand when they do fall. At times when they face temptations or dilemmas and become lost, they should be given timely advice to help them ease their pressure, and guidance which may gear them towards the right path.
The third “L” stands for “Lighting”. There are four seasons throughout the year: spring, summer, fall and winter. As in life, there are not only times of coldness and warmth, but also different tastes of sourness, sweetness, bitterness and fieriness. In any event, young people should always run towards the light. One must set clear goals in life and maintain a positive and proactive attitude in taking every step along the way. Young people should not only absorb positive energy, but also radiate this energy to others so that those around them could also feel the same positivity.
The fourth “L” stands for “Laughing”. Young people should learn how to laugh from smiling to giggling, and to laughing. If one asks children why they want to go to school, many might answer, “I go to school to play with my friends.” Many people would consider happiness as an important goal in life. In fact, many who come to me in this centre frequently come with heavy hearts, with an immense weight of burden placed upon their shoulders, feeling unhappy in their lives. On the other hand, very few have ever come to me complaining that they are “too happy” in their lives. As such, we should remind ourselves to face life positively, accompanied by a big laugh without hesitation.
The last “L” stands for “Loving”. After a heavy rain, the sky shines with a rainbow, and just like hearts filled with joy, the sky expands and wraps around the earth. If there is a clear blue sky and a magnificent earth, no matter whether one is rich or poor, so long as there is a heart of appreciation, the blue sky reaches above all. As with true love, where there is love, one may find peace and beauty, care and understanding, and the rainbow in our hearts may then connect the hearts of all people, and which forms a far-reaching rainbow.
