Art & Creativity
Dr. Vivian Lo learned Chinese calligraphy with her mother when she was young. Later, she continued learning it from several instructors in Hong Kong and Canada and recently she is learning it from Ms. Joanna Wei. Besides, she also learns Chinese painting with Ms. Celia Leung.
Dr. Lo is passionate with various kinds of artistic activities. For instance, she designed and made cloth face masks to have raised $10,000 for Villa Cathay Care Home. She hand-made semi-precious stone necklaces to raise funds for charities, and used pieces of stone and paper to create artworks. She will sing karaoke with friends and play piano during her leisure times. When she was a young adult, she learned writing Chinese modern poems with old poet Mr. He Da in Hong Kong. She also learned poetry when she studied English Literature in the university. This experiences enabled her to be engaged in the interpretative works between the Chinese and English languages.
Recently, Dr. Lo has just completed her studies for the Advanced Diploma of Art Therapy and become a certified Art Therapist. The integration of the elements between education and art can help young people express their talents to the fullest extent and regulate their emotions so that they are able to secure a slice of healthy development.
Art provides a stage for creativity to perform itself. The amazing performances on the stage also burst into sparks making the audience hold their breath with excitement. Creativity in return enlivens and enlightens the stage. Art enables creativity to colour people’s lives, but simultaneously, it broadens the breadth and depth of art.
